Dealing with the Death of an Employee
When the death of an employee impacts the organization, it is difficult to know what to do in the moment. Where does the Human Relations part end and the human response part begin?
Tangible lessons from experience of others are often the best way to create a response plan for yourself and your company. In this session, Patty Revis, SPHR, will share the lessons learned when one of her employees was tragically killed in a car accident on the way to work on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017.
Patty Revis, SPHR, is the Director of Human Resources at Unity One Credit Union in Fort Worth, Texas. Unity One is a 90-year old credit union with nine branches across three states. She is an award-winning professional with more than 30 years of experience in business, including having owned and managed her own business for nearly a decade. She currently handles all recruiting, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, internal communications, culture engineering and training for Unity One and has taught the prep class many times for the SHRM and HRCI certification tests. Patty holds a BS in Communications from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, among several other certifications. She has been a member of Fort Worth HR since 2006.
