Transforming Your Team from Dysfunction to Cohesion

There is no fun in dysfunction. Petty conflicts, back stabbing behavior, gossip and mistrust make it hard to go to work. Counter to conventional wisdom, however, the causes of these dysfunctional behaviors are both identifiable and curable. With the right tools, supervisors and managers can transform their work environment to one of cohesion and collaboration. The Five Dysfunctions of a Team approach, developed by best-selling author and consultant Patrick Lencioni, identifies the root causes of dysfunction on teams and provides the keys to overcoming them. Using this approach, this course empowers supervisors and managers to establish trust, gain commitment to team goals, clarify roles and expectations, effectively communicate and constructively debate issues, making better decisions and creating a team environment to optimize performance. - Recognize that – as the team’s leader - you must “go first” in establishing cohesive behaviors on the team and practice techniques for taking this first step.

- Recognize the power of vulnerability-based trust verses predictive trust, and practice the behaviors needed to build trust.
- Measure the current level of “dysfunction” in your team or organization and create a Gap Analysis Strategy to build the bridge.
Lisa Blanton possesses a diverse business background that includes over 30 years in corporate positions such as COO, CFO, and CHRO, including 13 years as a business owner of an Engineering firm. Lisa has a proven track record of helping leaders drive for high achieving results through strategy, integration, and people relationships with a focus on financial, people service, and enterprising aspects of a business.
Lisa's career is filled with success stories of assisting leaders to build the business functions of operations, finance, accounting, and human resources. While at the same time, they concentrate on the development of their product or service. She is passionate about guiding leadership teams to successfully build their organizations and provide the best environment and culture for their employees.
Lisa teaches leadership teams to get what they want from their businesses. She does this by providing a complete system with simple tools to help teams achieve alignment in their vision, get traction to execute to achieve every part of their vision and to help the leaders become a healthy, functional, cohesive leadership team.
Always wanting to help others, Lisa is an active member of the Austin Human Resource Management Association (AHRMA) and has served on the Board of Directors of the 800+ member association since 2014 in the roles of Treasurer, Co-VP of Conference, President-Elect, President, and most recently as Immediate Past President to provide advisory guidance to other volunteer leaders. Lisa also currently serves as Co-Director of Governmental Affairs and Advocacy for Texas Society of Human Resource Management (Texas SHRM).
She also holds a certification as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and has an MBA in Organizational Studies. In her free time, Lisa enjoys cheering for the Texas A&M University sports teams, traveling, and meeting new friends.
