A Message from State Director Jennifer Rower, SHRM-SCP

Our new SHRM President & CEO, Johnny C. Taylor Jr. released a simple message at the start of the year: Together and Forward. He refers to raising awareness about the true impact human resources has on the workforce of the future and how together we will move the profession forward. Texas SHRM is in total agreement. We understand the opportunity we have as HR professionals to be the transformative leaders our organizations and communities need. The state of affairs from a global, national, state and local front are ever changing and our ability to remain steadfast and in the moment while planning ahead for the betterment of the future is essential.

Many of our Texas SHRM volunteer leaders have been leading this charge in their local chapter and their workplace. Last year, we focused on how we could move the HR needle and identify how to measure whether we were winning or losing. By the end of the year chapters celebrated increased membership growth, created new partnerships, and demonstrated progress of goals while others faced unexpected hardships which turned into triumph.

This year we anticipate further development of our business acumen to support our workplaces while serving a profession which strives to positively impact the future our workforce. All of this is possible because of the transformative leadership of our Texas SHRM volunteer leaders.
