Position Description: 
The Austin, TX office of KW Landscape Architects (KW) is seeking a progressive, self-starting, and enthusiastic Human Resources (HR) Manager responsible for coordinating administrative activities related to the organization’s personnel. Duties for this role will include creating and implementing employee training and development programs, recruitment strategies, and systems for managing staff benefits and payroll, as well as being responsible for onboarding new team members. Duties & Responsibilities: 
• Manages and directs day-to-day HR department activities including facilitating strategies and events that positively impact employee morale, productivity, and the desired culture and business outcomes
• Serve as a liaison between management and employees by handling inquiries, interpreting and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related issues or challenges
• Responsible for planning and implementing staff training and development programs, utilizing knowledge of effective training methods (i.e. traditional classroom training, demonstrations, field training, meetings, conferences, and workshops)
• Brainstorm and conduct new employee orientation methods that foster a positive attitude toward organizational goals
• Review current compensation structure to create/implement new performance compensation programs
• Perform complex staffing duties such as dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, terminating employees, and administering disciplinary procedures as needed
• Manage recruitment for industry-specific open positions which may include coordinating and/or attending job fairs, posting to online job boards, and vetting preliminary applications
• Develop and manage HR policies and procedures for the firm to ensure compliance within all offices
• Facilitate and execute all employment verifications and unemployment documentation, as required
• Prepare, complete, and file all necessary documentation for onboarding, promotions, and termination
• Research, develop, and recommend HR policies and procedures that will improve the operation and effectiveness of the firm
• Support management and employees with policy interpretation and communication
• Collaborate with marketing to regularly update the employee handbook and employment resources
• Complete tasks in the timeframe allotted by leadership
• Performs additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience in an HR role, with Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
• Knowledge of EEOC, ADA, and employment laws
• Proficiency with using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat required, with exposure to or experience in HRIS systems preferred
• Extensive network of contacts and professional resources accumulated over HR career
• Ability to speak publicly in a large and highly visible manner
• Act as a role model, leader, and resource within the organization, demonstrating a strong work ethic
• Demonstrate an understanding of personalities and behavioral styles to work empathetically and collaboratively with a variety of people and to make informed decisions regarding resourcing and reporting structures
• Strong written and verbal communication practices with colleagues and leadership, aligning with the firm’s best practices
• Possess a positive, can-do attitude as a supportive and collaborative team member
• Self-directed with the ability to multi-task, anticipate, and problem solve
• Proactively provide project status updates to leadership prior to completion
• Authorized to legally work anywhere in the United States
